Victim Sympathizes With Mentally Ill Assailant
posted (November 2, 2018)
Now back to this morning's shocking series of events, Tanesha Ross and her kids were caught in the middle of August's mad dash from the hospital. While she was frightened for her kids she is grateful that they were not harmed. Ross also sympathized with August.

Voice of: Tanesha Ross
"We are a bit shaken up, but thankfully we are okay and like I said to them before I left them, it could have been worse and we need to be thankful to God for the fact that he did not just drove off with them in the vehicle and so I am really just thankful that all of us were outside and he proceeded to do whatever he did on his own."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Did you have any awareness of who it was or who it might have been?"

Voice of: Tanesha Ross
"It wasn't until I came out. My daughter said mommy that man looks like the young man that was on the news that killed his child. I couldn't match the face and until I heard one of the other person saying that he just left from the hospital and that's when everything started to some together for me."

"Just this morning I read an excerpt on people that suffer from mental illness and I said a prayer this morning for him, not knowing that I would encounter him just a couple minutes after. But it is an unfortunate situation and while the initial reaction would be outraged and to want to hurt, I do think that we need to look a little deeper into these issues, because it is something that is prevalent. Its secretly becoming on the increase and I do think that we need to try our very best to address cases like this and to dig deeper in the issues and try to get into the minds of people who suffer from mental illness."

Needless to say, Ross's vehicle is totaled.

Police have not yet specified what other charges they plan to bring against August.
