Former CITCO Employee Says The Council Is Shorting Him
posted (November 6, 2018)
The late months of the year are typically the slow season for City Council revenue. And, former employee Whitfield Rowland says he's the victim of that. Rowland resigned in July after 13 years at the council. The council agreed to pay him his gratuity on a monthly basis starting at the end of August. He was paid right on time at the end of the first month, but things started to go downhill after that.

He wasn't paid at the end of September - that payment came in early October, and now, at the end of the first week in November, he still hasn't been paid. Today he came to our studio to express his frustration:...

Whitfield Rowland, Disgruntled Former CitCo Employee
"Monday pass and I didn't get my money and they said the 31st of every month they were going to pay us and they haven't hold up to their bargain and all I am getting is a push around. I feel to myself that its unfair on my behalf. There are other people out there who are not saying anything, but if they would like they could call my number at 607-5496 and we could form an alliance against this injustice they are doing to us, because we work hard for our money. We should get paid. They came with their agreement and we are accepting it. Then pay us. That's all I am saying. Pay us!"

The City's public relations officer told us today that Rowland would be paid in full before the end of the day. We called him at 5:00 pm and said he still hadn't gotten his money.
