Teakettle Skeleton Had No Skull
posted (November 8, 2018)

Last night we told you about the human remains found across the river from Teakettle Village in the Cayo District.

Tonight, police are trying to figure out who the Teakettle remains belong to. Police say there was no on-site post mortem but DNA samples will be taken to determine the identity. As we told you, the family of Oswald Arnold is hoping it’s his remains. The 22 year old went missing in May of this year.

Here’s more from today’s police press briefing.

ACP Joseph Myvett - Head, NCIB
"Roaring Creek police responded to information of the human skeletal remains that were found somewhere northwest of Teakettle village across the river. Upon the police’s arrival the scene was inspected where almost a complete human skeletal remains were found except for the head. Several pieces of clothing was found as well as well as an expended cartridge. As a result the scene was processed where those remains were removed and they are pending examination 1:18 today."

Jules Vasquez
"Is it suspected to be the remains of Oswald Arnold based on the clothing?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Well we do not know at this time, yes we did receive some information from the family, however after interviewing them yesterday, DNA samples will be taken from them as well as from the remains in order for comparison to be done."

Police are still actively working on Arnold’s case as well. As you heard, everything except the skull was found but police can’t say for sure if the person was decapitated because police still have to factor in the expended shell that was found in the area.
