A Special Guest For Settlement Day
posted (November 13, 2018)
If you're one of the thousands of Belizeans who are southbound for this weekend Garifuna Settlement Day Celebrations, the National Garifuna Council has organized a treat for music lovers.

They've invited Zamfir Adams, a calypsonian from the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to perform at several events which make up a part of this week's calendar of events which leads up to Garifuna Settlement Day.

Adams has quickly gained popularity in the Garifuna Nation after he won this year's Calypso Monarch competition in Trindad for his hit song, "Hail Garifuna". He accepted the NGC's invitation to participate in Belize's Garifuna celebrations, and he arrived in country this afternoon.

We met him at the airport where he told us that he is excited to immerse himself in the festivities here.

During his stay in Belize, Adams will be participating in several events, including the Tribute to TV Ramos in Dangriga tonight, the Battle of the Drums Activities in Punta Gorda on November 16th and 17th, and the Cultural Activities in Dangriga on November 18th and 19th.
