Another PUP Says Delay The ICJ
posted (November 14, 2018)
And while he is fine tuning the proposed legislation, Musa has also joined his party leader John Briceno in asking for more time. He says that Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington has skewed the public perception of the ICJ issue:..

Hon. Kareem Musa
"And so you are way ahead of me Jules, in asking whether I want to go to ICJ or not, because I don't even feel as though the government is ready. The government is not even putting their best foot forward. I can tell you that in my constituency our people are getting educated, they are getting informed, but they are not happy with the way that the foreign minister is handling it. But the people of this country want to hear from the commander in chief. That want to hear from their leader. That is who we have as our prime minister and I have not heard the prime minister say or try to convince anybody that the ICJ is the way to go. And so yes, he might put out there that he is for going to the ICJ, but the people want to hear from him and in the absence of that they certainly no longer want to hear from the current foreign minister. So what you might end up getting come April 10th is that the people will be voting against the messenger. They'd be voting against how Sedi Elrington has been handling this situation. That's the last thing that we want, which is why I support our party leader in the call for a delay. The long and short of that is that I am not happy the way things are going and if my people of Caribbean Shores are telling me that they do not feel comfortable, they are going to vote no, I am going to stay with my people and vote no."

Government has said it will not postpone the ICJ vote.
