Camalote Woman Run Over By Hit And Run Driver
posted (November 20, 2018)
A 58 year old woman is at the KHMH after she was run over in Camalote last night. It was a hit and run. Carol Orellano was heading home after visiting her aunt when a vehicle hit her near the primary school. Her cousin told us more about what happened.

Shelly Matute, cousin
"She was here. She came to look for my mom, because my mom is her aunt. On her way going back, we didn't even know what happened, it's when we see the vehicles stopping out there we came out. When I ran out there I saw someone on their face, but by that time they already picked her up and took her to the Belmopan Hospital. We jump in our vehicle and went to look for her at the hospital. When we reached there, she was bleeding through her ears and she was bawling with pain in her hands and chest pains. The white car just knock down my cousin and left her right there. It was a hot and run. There was a big puddle in the middle of the street. We were saying that she was walking around that when she got hit."

"The vehicle didn't see her? Was it speeding?"

Shelly Matute, cousin
"It didn't even brake, stopped. We didn't even know if the driver look behind to see if he hit anybody."
