Garifuna Settlement Day was observed yesterday all over the country - but the largest celebrations were held in the south. Dangriga - the town which is home to the largest number of Gariganu - was - as per tradition - the base for the official ceremonies where the state pays homage to the Garifuna's history and their contribution to so many spheres of Belizean culture and daily life.
