Two days ago, Cano had been detained along with her parents for causing the death. But those parents were released today and Cano was charged not for murder, but for manslaughter. This is based on advice of the DPP - who did not find that there was enough evidence to support a murder charge.

Cano is the one who allegedly gagged her sister, which led to her death. Her parents assisted in tying down Keidi Ramirez at their San Juan Village home. Ramirez was reported very drunk and disorderly - which was not uncommon for her.
