Police Charge Man for Salvapan Murder

Police have also charged a Belmopan resident for Jermain Sanker's murder. He is 27 year old Elquine Hernandez. As we have reported, Sanker was parked outside a Panama street home when a man shot him dead. Here is more from police.

"Police have since arrested and charged one Elquine Hernandez, 27 years Belizean laborer of a Belmopan address for the crime of murder."

"Has this resulted in a motive being unraveled?"

"Not at this time, we are still working on the investigation."

"What is the connection between the accused and the deceased sir?"

"We do not know of any connection."

"I believe there was one other concern which was raised in connection with the arrest of Elquine Hernandez. He was picked up on Friday morning during a pre-dawn operation and he was released from custody early Sunday morning and sometime during the course of the morning he was re-detained pending further investigation which eventually led to his arrest."
