No More Holiday for Mount Carmel Kids, Classes Resumed Today
posted (November 26, 2018)
Classes resumed today at Mount Carmel Primary School in Benque. As we showed you on Friday, the teachers took to the streets to protest because three of them had not been paid for their services. Well, that is all being resolved. According to the principal, Ana Pech who has been teaching at the school for 29 years will be paid for the last two months and she will keep her job at the school for now. As it relates to Roberto Valencia, he will be paid or the three months he worked as a replacement teacher. The principal says he is not sure when the teachers will receive their pay but he says the Catholic General Manger and the Ministry of Education are working out all the details. But for now, everything is back to normal at the school.
