Blame it on the Alcohol: Man Walks into Oncoming Traffic
posted (November 26, 2018)
Tonight, Jeronimo Valle, a 59 year-old Salvadoran continues to recover from minor injuries he suffered yesterday evening. This is after he was knocked down in Belmopan.

Police say that the reports they received suggests that Valle was under the influence of alcohol, and he was staggering, while walking on Costa Rica Street Extension. Somehow, Valle walked right in front of an oncoming vehicle which ran him over, and continued along the way, as if nothing happened.

Here's what police know about the incident so far:

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"Belmopan police was called to an area on Costa Rica Street Extension in Belmopan yesterday evening, some time around 6:30 p.m., where a Hispanic male was seen lying on the street with minor head injuries. He was later identified as one Geronimo Valle, 59 year-old Salvadoran labourer. Our information is that he was walking in a staggering motion on the previously mentioned street, when, apparently, he staggered into an oncoming vehicle, and was he was hit by the vehicle which did not stop. As a result, the police was called, and the scene was visited, and he was transported to the Western Regional Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition."

Valle continues to recover at the Western Regional Hospital.
