Cannabis cultivation continues in the Columbia Forest Reserve in Punta Gorda. If you remember our exclusive feature on the countrywide weed plantation destruction, this area is a prime location to plant weed because it is hidden and remote. Well, the BDF and Punta Gorda quick response team were still able to find a weed field. The team were on a 5 day operation in the area which started last week Tuesday and ended on Saturday. They found the plantation on Thursday. There were 2000 mature plants averaging 5ft in height. They also found a canvass top hut with food, clothes, pesticides, kitchen utensils, about 5 pounds of marijuana ready for sale and 2 pounds of weed seeds of different grades. The weed plants were uprooted, cut and burnt along with the hut. No one was found in the immediate area.
