Tracey Panton Joins the Barrow Bandwagon

We also asked another UDP Minister about PM Barrow staying on. Tracey Taegar Panton endorses the decision and says if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Hon. Tracey Taegar-Panton, Minister of Trade
"That is not a new decision. That decision was taken at our national convention where our Deputy Prime Minister was elected and it was agreed at that time that leadership convention for the UDP would not happen before January of 2020. The Prime Minister thought he would not be able to stay because of the troubles he has had with his back but he is on the mend and he feels he presents a voice of reason and stability and there is no need to rush to change anything at this time."

But when the time actually comes for PM Barrow to leave, what then? We asked her about the prospect of either Patrick Faber or John Saldivar leading the UDP. She gave a reserved and diplomatic response.

Hon. Tracey Taegar-Panton, Minister of Trade
"I think when the time comes I will be in a better position to comment. We are colleagues we work very well with both of them and so one of them or maybe somebody new may transition as the leader of the UDP but that time is just not yet."
