Keeping Christmas Safe
posted (December 4, 2018)
The police will activate that anti-crime strategy this Christmas. Deputy Compol Williams told us that they will do all they can to make this Christmas safe and enjoyable for law abiding citizens:

Chester Williams, Deputy Compol
"Today we will have the official launch of our Christmas anti-crime campaign and this is the time of the year when we make preparations to ensure that we police the entire country to ensure that persons who are into the celebrations of Christmas can do so in a safe environment. We also must look at four categories of people, we have the business people, shoppers, we have the party-goers and the criminals. Our primary concerns are the first 3, the business owners because we want them to do business in a safe environment, you are going to shop we want you to go shop peacefully without having to look over your shoulder if you will be robbed or something and when you decide to go out and celebrate, or when you go to mid might mass, on Christmas eve or new year’s eve, the Christmas tree lighting, whatever event they may have for Christmas we want it to be a safe environment for everyone especially the children and then we have the criminals who our primary objective is to ensure they do not operate in a free and safe environment."

"I have pledged to the commanders that I will be deploying additional resources from the specialized units to the respective municipalities to be able to assist them in conducting preventative patrols within those areas as well as special operations geared towards targeting those persons we believe are involved in criminal activities."
