Rural Resilience In An Era Of Climate Change
posted (December 5, 2018)
Rural Reslience is the theme of a 20 million US dollar program designed to minimize the effects of climate change on small farmers. The idea is to support small farmers by strengthening Producer Organizations, and other links along the supply chain.

With farmers losing ground in a changing landscape - we found that it's more urgent than ever at a launch today at the Agricultural Show Grounds in Belmopan :..

The programme will initially target twenty-three (23) communities in five priority areas located in five districts: five communities in Orange Walk District, six in Belize District; five in Cayo District, two in Stann Creek District and five in Toledo District.

At least 40% of programme beneficiaries will be women. And 20% will be youth.

Initial funding comes through an 8 million US dollars Financing Agreement with IFAD, and a proposal for additional funding has been presented to the Green Climate Fund.
