Drug Plane Landed on Guat Side Of Sarstoon
posted (December 7, 2018)
The drug planes continue to land - and the latest is right at Belize's southern border, on the Guatemalan side of the Sarstoon. 7News has learned the sometime this morning, this Beechcraft King Air 90 reportedly landed right on the banks of the Sarstoon river - but, on the Guatemalan side. These pictures show Guatemalan soldiers guarding it - and in the background you can see the Belize side of the Sarstoon.

Interestingly, the BDF patrol from the Forward Operating Base found two suspicious Guatemalan men in the area of Graham Creek shortly after the landing. Interesting because - from their appearance - they aren't farmers - who are the only Guatemalans that regularly traffic the area.

The men told a BDF patrol that they had chartered a boat to get in the area - but the boat left them behind. They appeared to have been looking for something, we are told. They have been taken into custody at the BDF Forward Operating Base and will be taken to PG Police station. They had no valid entry permit for Belize - and Graham Creek is not a legal border crossing.

Notably, this plane landed at Belize's southern doorstep in Guatemala, and last week a drug jet landed at our front door in Chetumal.

We'll keep following the story
