This weekend, the National Trade Union Congress of Belize held its 52nd Annual General Meeting at the ITVET in Corozal Town.
Delegates from all 10 member unions participated in the AGM, where a new Executive Council was elected for the NTUCB for a 2-year term. Marvin Mora, from the Belize Energy Workers Union has been re-elected as the President. Clifford Martinez from the Public Service Union becomes the First Vice President, and he's joined by the new Second Vice President, Lorelei Westby from the Belize Water Services Workers Union. Patrick Balan from the BEWU is now the new General Secretary, and the Assistant General Secretary is Miguel Aguilar from the Belize Workers Union. Jorge Meija from the Belize National Teachers Union will serve as the treasurer, and Ella Waight from the Christian Workers Union will act as the Assistant Treasurer.
