No Answers For Burnt Vehicle
posted (December 10, 2018)
And, finally in police news tonight, the cops have no clue as to who burned manager Lisa Stanford's vehicle and why. As we reported on Friday, her vehicle was stolen from in front of the former Chateau restaurant on Thursday night. It turned up the next morning burned near Hattieivlle. We asked the police why:...

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"The vehicle was found about 8 in the morning at the Butcher Burns Road between Hattieville area extensively damaged by fire. The vehicle is valued at $45,000 Belize currency."

Jules Vasquez
"Any suspects or suspected motive?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC-CIB
"No suspects we have at this moment."

Jules Vasquez
"It would seem that if a high value, 2015 vehicle was stolen, it would either be for parts or to sell it, or to try and sell it illegally. Is there any indication why it would be burnt?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC-CIB
"The vehicle was inspected and apparently there is nothing missing from the vehicle of what was remains of the vehicle. It was clearly seen that the machine and other parts that we believe that might have been stolen but they were still intact inside of the vehicle."

Reporter
"How was it stolen in terms of having access the key, breaking of ... was that determined at all?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC-CIB
"Well because of the state of the vehicle, we cannot determine if the glass was broken or if any force was used to open the door."

Reporter
"So, then, if it wasn't stolen for its parts or for the sale, then has Ms. Stanford reported whether anybody has had a dispute with her, conflict, threats, anything?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC-CIB
"No; she had mentioned she has no conflict with no one."
