posted (December 12, 2018)
And, finally tonight, we have more reflections on Jane Usher, that giant of the Credit Union movement in Belize.

She passed away at 5:00 this morning, but her legacy and imprint will live on for a very long time. Belize City Mayor and former banker, Bernard Wagner also spoke on what was most significant about Ms. Jane:

Bernard Wagner - Mayor, Belize City Council
"The Belize City Council joins the family of Dr. Jane Usher in mourning her passing. Miss Jane as she was affectionally known was a trailblazer. Certainly she was one of our most prominent and accomplished citizens. While the Belize City Council joins you in mourning, we also join in celebrating the extraordinary life of this remarkable woman, who devoted her life to building an enduring legacy in our social, political and economics spheres. She served the people of this city and nation for many decades, not only as a founder and manager, but also as a visionary of one of its largest and greatest financial institution. We will miss her exemplary determination effort, honesty and humility and we offer our utmost sympathies and condolences to her family, relatives, legion of friends and admirers. Her memory forever remained an inspiration to a grateful nation."
