Businessman’s Murder Still a Mystery

No one has been arrested for Michael Arnold's murder.  The Corozal businessman was killed on Monday night on a dark and deserted road on the outskirts of Corozal.  Police today confirmed a few details, like the fact that he had just bought food, and that he was in the passenger seat when he was shot twice to the head:..

"On Monday the 10th of December sometime around 10:40 PM Corozal police were on patrol in the Baizer layout area where they came across a white van. Upon making inspection of the van the apparent lifeless body of a male person later identified to be Michael Arnold 58 years business of a 4th avenue address was seen inside the vehicle on the passenger side. A closer examination of the scene revealed that the passenger side window was shattered. One 9 mm expended shell was found inside the vehicle whilst another expended shell was found outside the vehicle. Upon inspection of the body he has two apparent gunshot wounds to the left side of his head and one apparent exit wound to the right side of his head."

"Sir was he in the passenger seat or driver seat?"

"He was in the passenger seat."

"Are you all aware, how the van got there?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"No, we haven't been able to establish that yet, however we do note that sometime around 8:40 PM he was on 4th Avenue in the said van where he came out the van and purchased some food at an establishment on 4th avenue."

"A motive for this sir?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"So far we have not been able to establish any motive but we're still working on it."

"Has anyone been detained?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I believe two persons were detained who were questioned and later released, however this is an ongoing investigation so that will continue to be the case."

"Sir so far the reports we have heard suggests that this may have been of a personal and not for example a business nature. Are you able to say if there are personal elements or intimate elements involved?"

ACP Joseph Myvett

"None that we know about." 

Police noted that Arnold had two identical vans.
