Fisherman Missing, Family Fears
posted (December 14, 2018)
On Saturday night, fisherman Greg Dillon left home to go on a fishing trip and is now missing. He was last seen by a watchman at the Turneffe Atoll area when he left on his boat called "Why-Yvette" at 6:30 on Monday morning. The last time His wife, Genay Dillon, saw him was when she dropped him off on Saturday evening. She was expecting him to be out at sea and his fishing camp for about 3 days and hoped to see him back by Wednesday. But, no one has seen or heard from him since - and tonight his family is very worried. We spoke with his wife today.

Genay Dillon, Wife
"The last time I saw him was Saturday evening after 3, when I went to dropped him off by the Northern Fishermen Coop. to go to sea."

Ebony Cornish, reporter
"Did he indicate to you what direction he was going into; did he have a destination?"

Genay Dillon
"Well, he reached there safely, because I spoke to him the Saturday and I spoke to him the Sunday night, and it was the Monday morning they said he left out."

Ebony Cornish
"Does he usually go on trips like this? How often does he do this?"

Genay Dillon
"Every week, every two weeks he goes out."

Ebony Cornish
"Do you have any search parties looking for him at the moment?"

Genay Dillon
"Well, we have the Coast Guard looking; the BDF with the Coast Guard said that they would do a fly over. We actually went to look yesterday at 4 am, but nothing. We, went all the way up to Glover's Reef and the last stop we took, a young man said that he saw a blue drum, like a half of blue drum that he would normally use to carry his lobster in; his live lobster. But, I'm not sure if it's his, but he saw it floating all the way down that side coming back in."

Anyone with information is asked to please call Mrs. Dillon at 615-1639.
