Dangriga Man Charged For Stabbing Murder
posted (December 19, 2018)
On Monday we told you about the early morning murder of 48 year-old Red Bank Villager Marcos Ack. Police are reporting tonight that they have charged the man who they caught on the scene.

He's 26 year-old Herbert Junior Taylor, a labourer from Dangriga Town; police formally arrested and charged him today with murder. It is expected that police will take him to the Magistrate's Court at the earliest convenience, where he will be arraigned and remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

As we reported, Marcos Ack, the victim, was traveling in the early morning hours of Monday, December 17th, and he was transporting vegetables to Mango Creek Village for sale. On his way, he gave a ride to Taylor. Just before entering Independence Village Taylor reportedly repaid his kindness by attempting to rob him at knife point. When Ack didn't hand over any money, Taylor allegedly stabbed him to the right side of the chest, causing the vehicle to run off the road.

Police were nearby, and they quickly responded, capturing Taylor who was trying to escape in the nearby bushes. They also found the knife which is believed to be the weapon Taylor stabbed Ack with. The cops rushed Ack to the Independence Polyclinic, and then to the Southern Regional Hospital, but he succumbed to his injury while undergoing treatment.
