Pandy Speaks On Son’s Tragic Accident
posted (December 19, 2018)
Today popular talk show host Kent Pandy spoke to the media about losing his son, PC Kenyon Pandy. As we told you, PC Pandy was driving from the direction of Punta Gorda to the Jalacte Border when he lost control of the vehicle. It flipped several times until it landed in the bushes on the side of road. His 4 year old son was also in the vehicle as we all WPC Chyneque Zuniga - they both survived. We met Kent Pandy this morning and he told us how he got the terrible news.

Kent Pandy, Father
"Well, last night I was going on the Love Fm show, Twelve Days of Christmas and before going on, I got a call saying…straight to point, they said that my son is dead. The person didn't even say, "did you hear what happened?" Straight to the point, and you know, I felt a way, but I was trying to be strong. I said, "you know what? I have to go and do this show"."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"So you still went on the show?"

Kent Pandy
"Yes, I still went and did the show, I put the news in the back of my mind until today; I'm trying to figure out more or less what happened. I saw the news last night, which I shouldn't have, and they showed the vehicle. It's really rough, but I said I'd still do the show."

Courtney Weatherburne
"It really hit you, it came as a shock to you?"

Kent Pandy
"Correct."

Courtney Weatherburne
"That 4 year old boy, because I understand a WPC was with him as well the four year old bo--, that boy was your grandson?"

Kent Pandy
"Yes, that is what they said, that three persons were in the vehicle. Yes, that was his son. But I don't know how he is. All I heard is that only he [Kenyon Pandy] died, and the other police officer is in a bad state, but I'm not quite sure."

"I don't know what is going on, maybe the police will call me or maybe I have to go and ask them what happened; I just have to wait and see."

"I think they were saying that he was trying to quickly get back to work and I always told him that whenever he is driving, try to go slow and not rush. Because you don't know what can happen, maybe your tire can blow out. Take your time and not hurry."

"He stays with his mom, but he couldn't see me nearly every week, where I am. He's a cool guy, up to what I know. I don't know if anyone knows him as a bad guy, but he's a guy who is friendly and likes to meet people. My son is alright, he's cool."

Pandy says his son lived in Mahogany Heights and was stationed at the Belmopan police station. Pandy says he had only been an officer for about 3 years.
