30 year-old Lucky Strike Villager Santiago Carrillo is at the Belize Central Prison after he was taken to Magistrate's Court for allegedly fondling a 12 year-old child.
The victim, accompanied by a social worker, reported to police that on the night of December 2nd, she was asleep, when she was awaked by someone touching her privates. She was unable to see who it was, and so, she waited until the next morning, when she questioned her relative. She inquired of that relative if he was the one who did it, and that relative said no.
On the following night, a family member of the victim reportedly caught Carrillo kneeling down in front of the victim's bed, with his arms wrapped around her waist. He was then detained, and formally arrested and charged with 1 count of sexual assault.
He was arraigned today before Magistrate Emerson Banner, and he pleaded not guilty to the offense. The Magistrate remanded him to prison until January 29th, 2019.
