PC Cucul Killed, Was It An Old Vendetta?
posted (December 20, 2018)
The Punta Gorda community is in a state of shock tonight after 34 year old police officer Modesto Cucul was murdered about two miles from the San Antonio Police Station. His body lay sprawled on the road side next to his pickup, with clear signs of a gunshot to the face and midsection.

Meanwhile his wife, 35 year old common law Anlavidia Cal of Maya Mopan Village, Stann Creek, is at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. We are told that Cal, who is the sole witness to Cucul's execution style murder, is currently listed in a stable condition at the Punta Gorda Town Hospital.

Cucul was with his common law wife on a road in Crique Jute Village when they were ambushed by two masked men. One of them shot the passenger's side which damaged the glass window and injured Cal. Police say Cucul was attempting to flee through the driver's door when he was shot on the right side of his face and died on the spot.

Cucul who lived in Punta Gorda was home on personal time. 3 persons are in custody pending investigation.

Reliable sources, tell us this may have been more than just a simple case of robbery. In 2012, Cucul along with another police officer were charged for the murder of Michael Valerio. Cucul is seen here with a purple shIrt over his head. Valerio, 47 at the time, was beaten to death by two drunk cops. Cucul and the other cop were later acquitted of the crime. He continued in the Department and was assigned to the Belmopan station.
