PC Pandy’s Tragic End

Today at the bi-weekly briefing, police gave their official statement on the San Antonio Road accident that claimed the life of PC Kenyon Pandy. Police confirmed that Pandy lost control of the vehicle and it flipped - killing him and injuring his passengers. Here is more.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
"Punta Gorda police responded to an information of a road traffic accident between miles 85 and 86 on the Southern Highway in the area of Dump. Upon police's arrival, a brown Toyota Corolla was observed on the left hand side of the road, in the bushes with extensive damage to its front portion. Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle which was being driven by Kenyon Pandy, 27, police officer attached to Belmopan police formation. And at the time, he was accompanied by Chyneque Zuniga, 24 years woman police constable and her four year old. He was east bound out of Punta Gorda when somewhere in that area he lost they control of the vehicle and it overturned several times causing him to be thrown from the vehicle. He received head and body injuries whilst WPC Zuniga received a dislocated left shoulder. Whilst the minor only received a burst lip; all were transported to the Punta Gorda hospital where Kenyon Pandy succumbed to his injuries whilst undergoing treatment. Whilst WPC Zuniga and her four year old son was later transported to the Southern Regional Hospital. She has since been released from the hospital since yesterday and is re-cooperating."

"Can you see at this point what caused the accident? Did it just lose control, the tire blew out? What do you say at this time?"

ACP Joseph Myvett:
"At this point in time, the investigation has shown that he has just lost control of the vehicle."

And to clarify, the 4 year old boy is Zuniga's son.
