Cannabis Cultivators Charged For 3 Inch Tree

Tonight, 2 cousins, 20 year-old Erwin Lanza, and 21 year-old Edward Ferguson, are facing huge fines after they pleaded guilty being in possession of a marijuana plant, and an illegal firearm.

At around 7:30 yesterday morning, police executed a search at the cousins' home in Lords Bank. They found a .22 pistol and a three inch marijuana plant growing on the verandah.

Police arrested and charged both of them with marijuana cultivation and keeping an unlicensed firearm. They were arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, and both Lanza and Ferguson pleaded guilty to the marijuana cultivation charge. The Senior Magistrate sentenced them to pay a fine of $2,500 each by March 30th, 2019, and if they default on payment, they will spend 2 years in jail.

For the gun charge, Lanza pleaded guilty, and he was sentenced to pay an additional fine of $2,000 by May 30th, 2019. If he default of payment for that fine, he will spend 2 years in jail.
