Iverson's Family Angry At Misrepresentations Of Missing Brother/Son
posted (December 21, 2018)

Another of those missing persons cases that recently caught the attention of the general public is 23 year-old Iverson Neal.

As we told you, he's been missing since last Wednesday, and according to police the last confirmed sighting of him was in the Cayo District. His family is desperate, and worried about his wellbeing.

Their frustration is amplified by what they say is a public misrepresentation of his personality. Earlier this week, we spoke with his girlfriend, who was one of the last persons who communicated with him. She alleged that he was having a series of mental problems, and when we contacted his family that same day, they strongly refuted that as baseless allegations.

Then, there was the comment from police at the press conference yesterday. Assistant Police Superintendent Alejandro Cowo, said that police have reason to suspect that he may be alive, but that he is hiding from his family because he does not want to be confronted about an internal family dispute.

Well today, his worried family called a press conference to make clarifications from their perspective. Here's what they had to say:

Nessie Rivero - Aunt
"When they say the family, we want him to be specific as to which family he's referring to, the girl's family, or our family? There's no inner dispute between us whereby Iverson would just get up and leave. He has never done this. In regards to the allegation where the young lady is saying that my nephew is mentally challenged, or has any kind of issues, in order to make sure that the people know that we were not trying to be biased, I personally went, and I spoke to his neighbors. I went to all his jobs, and I spoke to them, me and my nephew, and none of them saw any of this. They didn't see anything wrong with him mentally, no changes in him, anything."

Anelka Rivero - Brother
"How can my brother be crazy if he has been working in a stable job, and be working as a security personnel for different companies? He was last seen working at a very strong company, Monday before he went missing. He worked all day. We saw clips of him working, and he smiled with every person who walked into the store, and he greeted everyone."

Shamira Peters - Mother
"I am just asking the public that if anybody saw anything, or heard anything, please let us know. I just want my son to come home. If he is dead, please just at least give me a hint, or tell us something that we can find him, bring him home, and give him a proper burial. He doesn't deserve that because first of all, I don't think that my son has done anyone anything for them to hurt him. He's not that type of person. Iver is a loving person."

As you heard, the family suspects foul-play. They are also alleging that police are not investigating everyone they should, even though the family has provided them with actionable leads to pursue.
