posted (December 24, 2018)
On Friday, Iverson Neal's family was in an uproar. They accused police and his significant other of spreading all kinds of misinformation and misrepresentations about him. Thankfully, tonight, all that is at an end. He was found safe and sound over the weekend in Belmopan - slightly dehydrated but otherwise alright. Police told us more:...

ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
"Police were able to locate two of the male persons. The first one was located on Saturday in Belmopan. That was the person of Iverson Neal. He was found sometime in the evening in the outskirts of Belmopan by a concerned citizen, who thereafter handed him over to the police. Police noticed that Mr. Neal was dehydrated and was going through some kind of delusion and he was taken to the hospital, where thereafter family members arrived and he was handed over to the family. We have not had an opportunity to speak to him because I know that he was taken to seek medical attention this morning."

"Now sir, the police took a lot of criticism from the family suggesting that your information was incorrect. Do you all see this as vindication of the investigation efforts you all had pursued which suggested that the gentleman was still alive?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Well, what the family comments, I know it's because of what they are going through and they want to know where their loved one is and anybody would react like that. And we do not take anything personal, if that is their comment, that is their comment. We know that we are doing our investigation and that from the beginning I told them that the way the investigation was being conducted that we knew or had that feeling that he was still alive."

And another missing man was also found this weekend. Benson Butler from Western Paradise village went missing on December second. Well he was found this weekend, dehydrated, and disoriented but alive:..

ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
"The other person that was located was Mr. Benson Butler. I again thank the police officers and this demonstrates to us that the police officers are vigilant on the streets because it caught their attention as they saw this person. That is where they went and saw him and identified him as one of the missing persons we had reported during the week. He also had signs from dehydration and also we can see that he is suffering from some kind of delusion. He again was treated by the police, given food assistance, water and thereafter we contacted the family. He was handed over to his loved ones."
