Baby Tevin Cacho is at home with his mom recovering. He has made an extraordinary come back against all odds. Little Tevin is now talking and eating. As you remember, little Tevin was run over by a GSU truck in mid-December. Now the road to recovery isn't over yet, Tevin still has to take another surgery and he needs your help to raise money. We met his mom Shereema Moody at the hospital and she told us more about Tevin's progress and the fundraising event.

"He just took a surgery in his head right now they didn't find any infection in his head so far, no nothing but this main bone right here that is the one that is broken so they have to do another surgery on that. I made an appointment with the eye doctor so he should see the eye doctor on Monday and the man for his face I should see him at 3:00 because I just took the cat scan and then he will decide when is the surgery. They let him out because he wasn't on any anti-biotic or nothing so they just said let him go home until it is time to do the surgery because he wasn't on anything."

"They said he didn't have much of a chance to survive but look at him now."
Shereema Moody, Mother
"The chances were 70 50 and see my baby right here, thanks God, thanks to everyone who prayed, thanks very much. I have my baby right here with me, thank God."
"After this next surgery he will start to do his therapy so he could start to walk again."
Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"So at this point he can't walk right now?"
Shereema Moody, Mother
"He wants to try especially since he is home when he sees his cousins playing he just wants to lift up and jump off, I tell him Tev, where are you going, you want mommy hold you, that is how he still holds up but he doesn't have the strength in his foot to walk."
Courtney Weatherburne
"So you will certainly be keeping a close eye on him and monitoring his progress."
Shereema Moody, Mother
"Yes ma'am, I have to keep an eye on him close close."
Courtney Weatherburne
"And you guys have an event scheduled for this week I believe, tell us about that, it is a fundraising event right?"
Shereema Moody, Mother
"We will have a dollar drive right by my house on Iguana Street. We will be having music, we will have pastries on sale in the night, we will have a $5 dance. I am just begging the public to come out and support the thing. It is not a lot of things but we will try to do fundraising every week until it is time for the surgery."
The fundraising event will be held this Saturday at Moody's Iguana Street home. Moody says Chester Williams assisted her in paying for the cat scan.
