Hon. J. Espat Unimpressed By Foreign Ministers’ ICJ Compact
posted (January 10, 2019)

Julius Espat weighed in on the PM’s joint press conference by saying he is also against going to the ICJ and that yesterday’s event didn’t impress him.

Hon. Julius Espat - Area Rep, Cayo South
"Do they impress you because 5 people were on a stage, are you impressed? Has that changed your point of view? Have that changed the fact that you need to read some more or I need to read some more? That doesn't, they are giving their point of view and you have to understand, the PUP was voted out in 2008 too and this government will be voted out too because of the same reason I believe they are not listening to the people, we have to listen to what the people are saying, that is what we do as elected officials. So I have high respect for them but I don't agree with them and what they did yesterday does not impress me, I'm just speaking from the heart but I think it is not my decision to make, it is definitely not their decision to make, it is the people's decision to make. Don't talk about no bi-partisan because when you have bi-partisan of convenience, when I look at it with disregard. The prime minister has never had a bi-partisan approach in anything since he was elected in 2008."
