32 year old Edgar Coronado of Black Water Creek, Orange Walk has been named as the gunman in the December 23rd shooting of 22 year old David Diaz. The shooting, which is suspected to be the product of gang rivalries in Orange Walk, happened near a barber shop on the Belize/Corozal road. The shooter, believed to be Coronado, drove up to Diaz on a motorcycle and fired several shots in his direction. Diaz received gunshot wounds to his left leg. Today police gave us some very brief comments about this new development.

Edgar Coronado has been charged with attempted murder, wounding, and the use of deadly means of harm.
