Nugent and Son Accused of Cocaine Possession

A father and son duo from Corozal were busted with cocaine on Monday around midday. Police say a broad daylight operation in Corozal on the premises of one Michael Nugent Sr. led to the discovery of some 2.2 grams of cocaine. Present during the drug operation was Nugent and his son, Michael Nugent Jr. Now both father and son are facing charges related to drug trafficking. Police told us more.

"On Monday the 7th of January shortly after midday Corozal police visited the residence of one Michael Nugent within Corozal town where they conducted a search in the presence of Michael Nugent Sr. and Michael Nugent Jr. As a result of the search, several small transparent plastic bags were found with white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. As a result both persons were informed of the offence and taken to the Corozal police station where the substance was weighed in their presence and amounted to 2.2 grams. They have since been arrested and charged for drug trafficking."

"Yes, it was by intelligence, as it is my understanding that Michael Nugent is well known to the police." 

18 year old Michael Nugent Jr. and 36 year old Michael Nugent Sr. have since been arrested and charged for drug trafficking.
