New COMPOL Will Shake Up Senior Command
posted (January 10, 2019)

There’s a new sheriff in town, or at least a new COMPOL in Belmopan, and, as expected, Commissioner Chester plans to shake up the senior command.

Reports are that four Senior Superintendents, Alford Grinage, Alden Dawson, Marco Vidal and Howell Gillett, will all now be promoted to Assistant Commissioners.

We’re told that Deputy Commissioner Broaster will be in charge of National Operations.  Assistant Commissioner Vidal is rumoured to be designated for some kind of operaitonal command as well - and rpeorts suggest that Eastern Division South commander Howell Gillett could be headed back to Special Branch.

We’re told also that Southern Commander Alford Grinage will be put in charge of JIAC the Joint Operations and Intelligence Center - which tracks the movements of drug planes, while Superintendent Sandra Bodden will take over the command of the Southern Region.

But, while these changes are widely rumoured - and even circulated in an unofficial document, the police press office today put out a release saying, quote, “there’s a circulation of a document that lists reshuffling and postings of Senior Police Officers in the Belize Police Department; we ask that this document be disregarded, as the Commissioner of Police, Mr.Chester Willians is in constant dialogue and communication with his Senior Officers, and command. In light of this, the Commissioner of Police will make his official announcement to the general public of any changes within the department during the course of the 3rd week of January, 2019.â€￾
