23 year old Guatemalan of Buena Vista Jamie Martinez was discovered dead floating in the river of Black Man Eddy last week. And while police have been able to track down his last whereabouts they are still clueless as to how he went from socializing at a party in Buena Vista Village to floating dead on the River of Black Man Eddy. What is more bizarre about his death is that he was found bound and police believe he may have been strangled to death before being dumped in the river. Here is what police told us about that ongoing investigation.

"We know that he was last seen in Buena Vista village in the Cayo district on the 29th of December sometime around 11 PM was the last time he was seen alive. He was at a function in Buena Vista. Upon interviewing his family members, it is said that some time earlier in December he had left his mother's home in Libertad to visit friends in Buena Vista and that is the last they know of him. It is an ongoing investigation, the police is following several leads, we were just in the area yesterday and I believe the officers are back in the area today. A motive has not yet been established but we are following several leads."
