And that wasn't all that King had to say. It's been a while since he has been in the public spotlight - so he used the opportunity to rage against the UDP - which is blocking him from being a candidate in Fort George. King didn't hold back when he said the party - which he still claims as his own - could do, and is doing a lot worse:...

"The entire central executive of the UDP had made a double standard and wrong decision. So, at the end of the day if you take me to court and find me guilty I can still run in the UDP because I can show the judge that you have somebody that has gone to prison, that has gotten convicted, running in your party. You can't take something where you have a personal issue over and put it on Facebook. That is what I am trying to say. So, I hit two birds with one stone just to show the fact that you cannot just be going on face book and lashing people over and over for what has not been proven. The reason Patrick Faber and Finnegan went on the TV and shouted how my days are done in the UDP was simply for the fact that I did not vote for Patrick Faber in the National Convention; and I have the text where he has shown me that he will make sure I don't run in the UDP again. So, for the simple fact that Patrick Faber has a grievance with me. I don't care who he is, I have never cared who you are. I am caring about the future candidates of the United Democratic Party and the double standards that the Central Executive has put in place. So you are missing the point, it is never about me."

"But ultimately you are trying to put yourselves out there as a candidate for the United Democratic Party."
Mark King
"If or if not the UDP wants me as a candidate, there is a surprise for them and that is taking it, not to court of course, but I wouldn't want to suggest that surprise we keep it as the element of surprise where we come from in the military."
We won't recount all the details, but King has had a turbulent and difficult history with the UDP - which has vowed to not let him run as a candidate again.
