Missing Woman Anisha Young, the Mystery Deepens
posted (January 15, 2019)
Close but not close enough: that is how Anisha Young's family feels after they found what they believe to be her weave and skin tissue in a shallow grave in Maskall Village. Sure, these finds are significant but they still don't point to where exactly Young's remains are. Today the search party leader Jose Uk Espat along with the family held a press conference at his residence to revisit all the circumstantial evidence they have gathered from the time Young went missing in early December to now. That includes surveillance footage on the morning Young went missing, GPS readings and phone records. Now Espat made it a point that this case could have already been closed if it wasn't for the leaked information.

"Before myself and the family could reach from the Maskall cutoff to the main road, the Phillip Goldson Highway, the Reporter had already published the findings that we had made that day. So there were only the CIB crew and some, I think it was about 4 of the family members that were out there on that site. So it could only be one of the family members which I have checked and I know it's not them, or one of the CIB police. This is a huge issue we have and this is why when we have missing people the suspects of the killers keep moving the bodies and keep one step ahead of the investigation, because we have people leaking out information."

Espat also shared some new and interesting leads they have gotten in Young's case.

"Another very important thing is that all along the way from that grave. All through the little area where we found that grave, there are a lot of horse hoof prints on the ground and there is only one person in that area which has horses and that one of the persons of interest that the police have or were investigation. Another issue is as well that the family got a phone technician from Apple in the US, because Miss Anisha had an Apple Iphone and the technician managed to get into her Iphone and he changed the security questions so that no one else could access that phone. And prior to his changing those questions, there was activity and this activity was going on after the fact that Miss Anisha was missing for a couple days. While getting this information, after locking them out, they made other attempts to get into the phone and this alerted the technician via an SMS and it has a picture and the name of the person trying to get into that phone and that person is directly related, blood related, to the boyfriend."

"The police already has this information. Everything we do and find, we give it to the police and what they do with it after is their thing. The technician had also logged a location of that phone which was somewhere in Belmopan. The phone was turned off, because they obviously knew that someone was in the phone and they turned off the phone and later on once more, tried to come on to the phone to take off the Find My Phone app that's on the phone. All this information has been given and they are doing what they need to do with that."

Another important lead that police found in Maskall is the wristband. Espat says this band can prove if it was Young in that shallow grave and who the possible killer/killers are.

Jose Espat, Search Team Lead
"I actually got a picture of Miss Anisha Young at Sit and Sip the same night with a band. I'm not saying it is the exact same band found, but it is the exact same type and I got confirmation that it is from Sit and Sip and so the importance of this band connects everything. We need to know whose DNA is on this band; we need to know if Anisha's DNA is on this band. We need to know if Mister Fortune's DNA is on this band. And if there is a third profile on this band, the police must bring all the suspects that they have and that they believe are involved in Miss Anisha's disappearance to get a DNA sample for comparison to that third DNA profile if such would be found on that band. So here is the utmost importance of this band found and this can help to confirm that if it's in deed Miss Anisha that was in that area, because if her DNA is on that band, what is that band doing at that location. All the evidence it's there. So I believe now that we need to pressure the police to do their job."

Espat believes police should test the band but he says police told him they are not sending the band for DNA testing. Now it has been a very emotional time for the Young family whose focus and energies are now just dedicated to finding her remains. Today Young's cousin Sheree Salgado expressed this much and begged those involved in her murder to reveal where they buried her body.

Sheree Salgado, Cousin of Missing Woman
"It hasn't been easy for us. I can't tell you when last we had a good night sleep or when we really sat down and had something to say we are enjoying our food. It has been really hard, especially the Christmas holiday that just went by. We know that our love one is out there and she wants us to find her. I am going to plea right now to whosever have anything to do with this. Come on, you guys already murder her, because of all the evidence that we have gathered. Just like how you guys could have called and say go and look for her, that's how we knew that she was missing. Why can't you guys call now and say to go and find her body. We are begging. If you want us to go on our knees. All we need is closure. We just want to be able, like Mr. Espat say, to give her some kind of burial. We can't sleep knowing that she is out there. We can't rest. It's in our head to say get up and go look for me, I am out there, go and look for her. Just give somebody a call. Find out a way to get the number. You can use a payphone. You can use some unknown number just like you guys did in the beginning. All we are asking for is to lay her to rest. That's all we are asking for. So please, just give us a call and tell us where. If you want us to go on our knees. If you want us to give you some kind of monetary compensation or anything reward, anything. All we want is our family. My aunt can't sleep. She is literally getting sick from this whole scenario and I want to look at the camera and I know the person or persons who are involved in this will hear it somehow. I know you have a daughter, you have a mother, and you have a sister or even a cousin that is a female. I want you to look at that person and think of her going missing. How would you feel not knowing what part of the world you can find her or you can find your loved one?"

The family is hosting a vigil on Saturday night at 6:00 starting at the Pound Yard bridge. They are inviting everyone out especially those whose loved ones are also missing. The family is also calling on the police to assist them to do a final sweep in the Maskall area where they found the shallow grave.
