Iguana Again
posted (January 15, 2019)
An Iguana Street Ext. man is lucky to be alive after he was shot in the chest. Last night around 8:45, 35 year old Anthony Crawford was riding on Antelope Street extension when a gunman pounced on him. We spoke to a resident off-camera and he says the shooting is as a result of a gang rivalry.

Voice of: Resident
"The next one that get shot was at his friend's house and it looked like he was going home and as he bend the lane from his friend house that is where the gun man was dodging him or waiting on him or something and he just burst too shot."

"When I hear the first shot, I was on the verandah and then when I hear the second shot then I just see the gunman run towards burial ground areas and the guy they shot he just drop in the drain, get up back then the next guy he was with picked him his bike and they walked into the next lane and police come same time and put him in the vehicle and took him to the hospital."

"I know long time the crowd the beef up one another."

Courtney Weatherburne:
"So you think it is gang related."

Voice of: Resident
"Yes, yes, it is just that check point that is at the back save the two people them from war with one another so the only way they can get one another is away from the check point."

The Iguana Street and adjoining Antelope Street extension areas are battlegrounds for turf between rival gangs, and have seen a number of murders and shootings over the years.
