Two Charged In Connection With Aragon Sr. Home Invasion/Abduction
posted (January 17, 2019)

A week ago, we told you about, the very troubling home invasion of Elodio Aragon Sr’s residence, the father of Police Minister of State Elodio Aragon Jr. It happened in the early morning hours of last Thursday, at Elodio Senior’s Orange Walk Town home.  A group of men broke in, ransacked the place looking for valuables, and then kidnapped Elodio Sr., before depositing him unharmed several miles outside of Orange Walk on a feeder road.

Well, police are reporting tonight that they have arrested and charged 2 persons in connection with this crime. They are 26 year-old Renold Hernandez, a driver of San Jose Palmar Village, and 19 year-old Rachel Lawrence, a domestic of Palmar Road. They are facing a charge of handling stolen goods, and it is expected that they are expected to be arraigned in Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

We understand that Hernandez is being investigated for several other crimes, including burglary and robbery.

At this time, Elodio Aragon Senior’s stolen Honda CR-V vehicle is still missing.

This arrest now seems to put the kidnapping within the realm of petty crime, and not high crimes associated with underworld links - as had been speculated by some, but firmly rejected by his son, Minister of State Elodio Aragon Jr.
