PM Calling on Cuba

And here now is a small recap of some recent television reports form the Prime Minister's visit to Cuba:

"The President of the Councils of States and Ministers Miguel Diaz - Canel Bermudez this Tuesday received the Rt. Hon. Dean Oliver Barrow, who made an official visit to Cuba. In a cordial atmosphere, the leaders exchanged thoughts on the good state of the bilateral relations and coincided on the willingness to continue strengthening them. They also spoke about matters of interest on regional and international agendas. He was accompanied by the ambassador of Belize in Cuba. The Cuban delegation comprised of the Chancellery, The Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment, the Director General of Latina America and the Caribbean, and the ambassador of Cuba in Belize."

"Upon stepping foot again in Cuba, the Prime Minister of Belize Dean Oliver Barrow offered his impression of his official visit on the main Antilles."

"It gives me an opportunity to make exchanges with the Cuban president, get closer to the Cuban people, and discuss issues that are having most impact in our region at the moment; overall, what is happening now in Venezuela and Nicaragua that are having major impact. It also gives us an opportunity to participate in what is going to take place in Cuba next week as it relates to the voting in the referendum which is going to be very important to our country."

"The Prime Minister of Belize was received in Habana by the Cuban vice minister of Foreign Relations Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga. The visit to Cuba of the Caribbean delegation will extend until the 28th of January."

Though Barrow makes his first official visit after 11 years in office, he was foreign minister when formal diplomatic relations were established with Cuba in 1995.
