The Case Of Crawford Shooting
posted (January 18, 2019)

On Tuesday’s news, we told you about the shooting of 35 year-old Anthony Crawford in Belize City. He’s the Iguana Street Extension resident who was shot on Monday night.

He was riding his bicycle along with a friend when a gunman jumped out of a bushy lot and opened fire on him, hitting him in the chest.

He remains in a critical condition, and police say that they may have identified the gunman who targeted him. The problem is that they need witnesses to come forward and give evidence so that they can charge the suspect.

Here’s what police had to say about the case at today’s press briefing:

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
“On Monday, the 14th of January, sometime after 9:15 p.m. Police were called to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they observed Mr. Anthony Crawford, a 35 year-old Belizean, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the center of his chest. What police gathered so far is that Mr. Anthony Crawford was riding his bicycle along with another friend on Antelope Street Extension, when a male person came out of a bushy yard and fired 2 shots toward their direction, causing the injuries to Mr. Crawford. He is still presently admitted at the hospital in a critical condition.â€￾
