posted (January 18, 2019)
And as PM Barrow concludes his diplomatic visit to Cuba, CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H. E. Patrick Andrews makes his own diplomatic rounds in Mexico. His visit marks one of Belize's first official encounters with the New Mexican administration since Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador was sworn in as president. A press release from the government of Belize says this visit underscores the strength, breadth, and depth of the historical relationship that unites both countries. Yesterday Andrews met with Maximiliano Reyes, Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs in Mexico. They discussed several issues including trade and Belize/Guatemala relations. He also met with 30 Ambassadors accredited to Belize who reside in Mexico and got a chance to exchange views on topics of mutual interest including bilateral relations with their respective countries and the upcoming ICJ Referendum. He was accompanied by Belize’s Ambassador to Mexico, Oliver del Cid.
