He's the public champion and most fervent fighter for the "Yes To The ICJ" campaign, and Assad Shoman is now taking his campaign to another level with a new non governmental organization called Citizens for the Defence of Sovereignty. A release announcing the group says its immediate focus is the referendum on the ICJ. The release says, quote, "In this situation where the two major political parties have taken conflicting positions on the issue and where the people are being constantly bombarded by falsehoods and dishonest arguments designed to create fear and confusion, the nation calls on citizens to stand up for the rights of the people and the nation.
CDS - as it is called - will embark on a countrywide initiative to, quote, "tell the people the truth about the ICJ road to freedom. The press release also makes a pitch for monetary contributions.
