And now the local tracking mechanism for those drug planes is under police command. The Joint Operations and Intelligence Center is rotating command from the BDF to the police. Williams discussed this change:

Reporter
"Do you think this will create an enhanced response to this type of narco-operations in Belize?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I will first and foremost say that Col. Amoa has been at JIOC for over 2 years which is the tenure of the coordinator and during the time that he has been there he has done an exceptional job in coordinating operations and how we respond to these clandestine plan landings and so forth. Now we have a `very active, vibrant officer in the person of Sr. Supt. Grinage going to take over from Mr. Amoa as the coordinator now. And we expect that the work that Mr. Amoa has been doing at JIOC will continue under the tenure of Mr. Grinage and whatever we can do to enhance the performance and the results coming out of JIOC we are going to do from ou5r side."

b>JIOC as it is called is based in Ladyville at the Price Barracks. The command rotates every two years.
