Evan Neal’s Family Pleading For Closure
posted (January 25, 2019)
11 days ago, we first told you about 43 year old Evan Neal. He's been missing from his fishing camp on Mapp Caye in the Belize District since January 12th. That's when police found one of his workers, watchman Edinio Enso Humes shot in the head.

But, there has been no sign of Neal and after almost two weeks of intensive searching the Coast Guard has told his family it cannot continue to look. Today, his brother Mark made a plea for his return:...

Mark Neal, searching for Brother, Evan Neal
"We have been searching a wide areas of 5 miles radius, like almost 8-10 times. We have people come up to us and tell us that they spot a boat within a bushy area. We searched that. If you tell us he is in a crab hole, we searched that. All I am asking for is closure. I need closure and if anybody sees anything, I am asking the general public to help us, please. I am begging with my heart to them."

"At what point has the Coast Guard indicated to no longer be able to locate resources, or has that point already passed?"

"The Coast Guard told me that a week ago they should have signed-off, but because my minister is from my area in Belmopan, he has been putting in his pound and he has thrown in them for another week which ends today and that's why I am pleading again. For us out there searching, it's really expensive as you know and we are not giving up. But when you don't have closure, there will never be a point. The ting is it can continue all my life. Maybe I get old and say tomorrow is my birthday, let me look out there again and see if I find my brother. This is sad for me and my family."

"My appeal once more is to any fisherman or boaters within the area - saw anything strange, or the water taxi - anything strange, give me a call. My number is 651-1429. I will answer my phone anytime of the night, so is how I need closure and I also need it for my family and my brother's kids. I am asking one more time if anybody see anything."

The 43 year old was last seen by his family on Thursday January 10th, which makes him last seen 15 days ago.

Again, anyone with information is asked to call Mark Neal +501 651-1429.
