Detained Police Corporal Exposes Revolting Conditions in Detention Cell
posted (January 29, 2019)
Police Corporal Darrell Tutsi Usher was detained on Sunday - he and his brother, Dorian on a complaint of wounding and discharging a firearm - which we'll tel you all about shortly.

They locked him up in the detention cell just like any other accused person, and the news tonight is what Corporal Usher witnessed and documented during his time in the police lockup.

It is extraordinary, but we warn you, it is also repugnant - and you may find it offensive or disgusting.

But, it's the kind of thing we have to show; it is the first unfiltered look into the place called - forgive the language - pisshouse. We found out via a facebook post from Corporal Usher that it's a lot worse than even that stink name suggests. Jules Vasquez reviews the Corporal's post:

Jules Vasquez reporting
When Corporal Darrell "Tutsi" Usher went to court this afternoon - he might have looked slightly relieved - and his relief may have been to get out of the Queen Street detention cell.

Usher was somehow able to capture pictures in his 48 hours there and it shows…

waste water seeping up through the ground, walls stained with streaks of human faeces, toilets in an abominable, unconscionable state…The photos depict a revolting physical environment - not fit for the humans who have to sleep on the ground - maybe not even fit for rodents - which crawl amongst them.

Corporal Usher writes, quote,
"This is how people from the south side of the city is been treated while in police detention at the Queen street police station…this is the place me and others have to eat and then sleep after on the ground in…We could not-even sleep in the cells do to they are getting over full with waste water coming from under the ground due to the over flow or backing (up) of the waste system."

Of course, the pictures do not capture the scent. Usher says, "we had to (be) inhaling I would say years of people waste. I really think the health department need to come in to the queen street police station and close it down"

And Corporal Usher also takes a swipe at his boss, the Commissioner

"I was hoping the change in the big boss would bring better for people and police but it guess most thing is a front but behind closed door all remain the same or is getting worst….Help Help need(ed) from the minster of police and the minster of Health, see how your people living…"
