Kidney Association Donates To School
posted (January 30, 2019)
Last week we showed you the launch of the Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Renal Failure in Belize. Well, the Kidney Association of Belize has launched its own project. It's a national educational campaign where they will conduct presentations at schools countrywide. They started off in the Belize district at the Anglican Cathedral College. The Kidney Association team spoke to the kids about the disease and how to avoid getting it by living a healthy lifestyle.

It will be a 3 month campaign at schools in the Belize district. After the 3 months, the team will then go to other schools in other districts to present. As a bonus to today's event, the Social Security Board handed over $30,000 to the Kidney Association to assist with the campaign.

Now, ACC also had its cultural awareness day, so we dropped by to see the colorful displays and presentations.
