On Monday, the funeral will be held for Anthony Sylvestre Sr. He was described by the PUP as a "long serving statesman, public officer and consummate PUP warrior."
And, indeed, he was all that - but the 73 year old was also more than just that. He was a father to his two sons and a daughter. Today we asked his younger son, Anthony Juniour to discuss that dichotomy between his private dad, and the public figure we all knew:..

"Your father funeral is Monday. I know it must be a crazy time for the family, because you have all these external issues of the public figure your father was and the private person he was for you all. How are you managing?"

"The thing about it, because I have been constantly at work this week, it really set in as yet. As it was with my mother. My mother passed 4 years earlier. What happens with these things over time, it sinks in that you parents isn't here. But I am grateful for all the tremendous outpouring of support and sympathies which have been expressed across the nation. So we are thankful for that."
The funeral will be held at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in Belize City.
Sylvester served in very many capacities, including a time as George Price's Cabinet Secretary. He was also Editor and Manager of the Belize Times Newspaper, the PUP Secretary-General and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Defence and the Public Service.
