Champion Jockey Killed When SUV Has Blowout
posted (February 4, 2019)
And while that fatal accident has left a family mourning and a community looking for answers about what to do with this pedestrian traffic problem - another fatal accident has taken the life of a champion jockey.

At around 2:00 this morning, 27 year old Kristian Miles Tillett was heading home to Scotland Halfmoon along with his common law wife, Ana Soler.

He is a well known jockey and had won the last race of the day at the Burrell Boom racetrack.

But, rounding the corner to the Scotland Bridge he seems to have had a blowout on his Mitsubishi Montero. The vehicle flipped violently, and Tillett was flung unto the pavement - where he died from massive head injuries.

His common law was not flung from the vehicle and only had minor injuries.

Police told us more:

ASP Alejandro Cowo
'At about 2:30pm, police were called to the Bermudian Landing Road where upon arrival, they observed a green in colour Mitsubishi extensively damaged and not far from there, they saw the motionless body of a male person, who was identified as Kristian Myles Tillett twenty-seven years of Scotland Halfmoon Village. Initial information is that Mr. Tillett was travelling from Burrell Boom towards Scotland whilst on that road; he lost control of the vehicle and overturned several times which caused him to come out of the vehicle. At the time, he was travelling with his common-law wife and another female who sustained small injuries to their bodies."

Investigators suspect that Tillett was not wearing a seatbelt.
