And, another man was killed this weekend in a fatal traffic accident - and it happened on the Southern Highway - the second in a few days.
Police say the victim was sitting on the road:..

"One Lorenzo Mejia was traveling from San Juan Village towards Dangriga Town and whilst between miles thirty-six and thirty-seven he was temporarily blinded by the lights of an oncoming vehicle and eventually ran over the deceased and his bicycle and the deceased was later learned to be Alvin Abad Paz, other particulars are unknown at this point in time. What the police gathered also is that Mr. Paz seemingly was sitting on the road, as they learned this information from persons who had passed the area before. Mejia was detained whilst the investigation was ongoing and he was later released after he was served with a notice of intended prosecution."

"We are going to compile the investigation as we usually do and then those will be submitted to the office of the director of public prosecution for her advice and direction."
The driver has still been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
